it's a................................

we finally got all checked in and poppy picked max up from school and brought him up to the hospital to be with all of us.
one last "lovin" from the outside like they've given the baby for so many months!

aunt stetie was in for a treat...

max didn't know quite what to make of everything. he was pretty reserved this day. very interested but quite...i kept a close eye on him:)

okay, this is a memory that will never leave me and probably nobody else that was in the room that day. the moment that maddie saw her baby brother was priceless. to say she was in awe of him is an understatement. he was crying and there was no hesitation she climbed right up on that be and held onto him and just gazed into his face like he was the most incredible thing she'd ever seen in her whole life...i think he was. then she pressed her forehead against his for several moments and just held him and smiled. max was thrilled as well, he seemed to take it all in from a distance at first and then slowly became hands on with him.

the forehead press and hold!

immediate mommy instinct!

sweet baby!

delivery day...FINALLY!!!

so...the day is finally here after almost 4 months of bedrest. induction day. the phone rings 20 minutes before we are about to walk out the door and it is a l&d nurse telling me that we will have to reschedule....excuse me??? "that's not an option" were my exact words. so after many phone calls alot of waiting and some tears we did finally get to check in about 8 hours later. the following are just a few pics of maddie and i being silly to pass the time:) max was in school.

max's first day of kindergarten!

the "good luck" phone call from mimi!

breakfast: oatmeal and milk
the token pictures with the backpack on right before you walk out the door. mom and dad always took mine, steph, and scott's every year i can remember...gotta have 'em.

maddie goes to pre-k...again

maddie started pre-k 3 again this week. this is her second year in the this program because of how her birthday fell she was able to have our favorite teacher mrs. tonja 2 years in a row. it was odd seeing her as the bigger one in class. she was a little reluctant but didn't cry. at the end of the day she was bouncing off the walls and said she had a great day. when i asked her what her favorite part of the day was she said "the playground".

our branson vacation

on our way! we stopped about half way at the natural bridge. it was fun...it gave the kids a chance to run around and stretch their legs.
daddy, max and maddie under the natural bridge

m & m exploring some caves

what's a vacation without a stop at an old moonshine shack?

on our way to the dixie stampede....loved it! the kids were in awe of all of it. max loved the big horses and how fast the went. maddie loved the "princesses" (southern belles) that came down from the ceiling and danced. when they appeared she stood up in her chair and leaned over and told her daddy "i want to go down there with them because i'm a princess too" they both ate really good and it didn't seem to phase them that they were eating with their hands!
daddy, max and maddie with some of the horses before showtime

yeah!!! silver dollar city! awesome park for the kids they loved all of it! except when maddie was too little for a ride. she rode everything she was able and loved it, max even rode some big coasters with daddy!
in the kiddie area

the each won a stuffed animal at this fishing game..

snack time...cotton candy hands!

one of the rides maddie was too short for...yes, she cried

we had promised them all day we would do a water ride (their version of the log ride) when it was time to leave bc even though it was 65 degrees this day it was very windy...not ideal for water rides. we knew we might get a little wet....here's a pic after the ride it doesn't do the wetness justice. poor maddie was soooo wet i thought we might be turned over to cps before we left the park.

our last day...we got an included breakfast each day at our motel so we decided to include some pics of how we started our day each day we were there. also, the i took the kids to play on the playground right outside our door while daddy packed and loaded the car.
